Ok, I just reset my account, messed up early on and later in the game, I needed a lot more space. Anyways, I thought you were supposed to start out with a planet? I could be wrong on this, and if I am, then that's fine. I can build up scan and find something, but I seem to remember starting out with one already.

Well, the tutorial will guide you to scan a planet. Thus perhaps that's the planet you 'started out' with, which actually is due to your own scanning. So resetting = no planets = correct I guess.
