I'm reporting that I was awarded a blue badge for an unsuccessful hack. My understanding of the update, this should not happen (though, I'm not complaining... :P just reporting)

There are two kinds of Unsuccessful hacks. The first isn't really unsuccessful, they just don't have anything to hack. It appears as a red message but your hack was successful. The other is a fail. You do (rightfully) get a badge for the first but not for the second.

Edit to add:
Exact message for positive fail: Hack Unsuccessful. Could not find anything of value in computer database. Spy probe - Resources confirms that the person had 0 RP to steal. So in fact, the hack IS successful, there just isn't any RP to get (and I didn't get a critical success, aka a planet).

Ah.... if that is considered "successful" then there is no issue.

The same thing just happened to me. Perhaps an idea would be to change the red frame to a yellow one? That way people can see it was neither a success, nor a fail.

Correct - the message is a bit misleading because it makes it seem like the hack failed. It might make more sense to change the text to 'successful' instead of 'unsuccessful'. The rest of the message explains enough for clear up why the player didn't receive any points.

I think this would make the most sense.
