We've all done it at some point. seen a planet. dropped the pop, debuffed etc, and tried to steal it, only to fail, wait the 24 hours that suck, hoping they didnt notice SOMEHOW (or care), only to re attempt an invasion.... the problem here, is that if you throw an engineered virus at the planet, around the time of invasion, it will keep the pop down until the next invade, but even if it goes over that 24 debuff timer, you just toss a new one in it and BANG, NO POPULATION!! its like a free energy dump, with none of the energy loss. this needs to be fixed dan. and not tomorrow or later on. but NOW. this has so much potential for abuse its not funny.

Hmmm... I've seen the insta-pop when the Virus wears off, but not the re-genocide with a new Virus... If that's the case, yes... Definitely needs looked into.

aww MB, whats the matter, you made yourself a target. im actually the one to have noticed this and report it. i wasnt eager to beat through any extra population, so i tossed a virus(as per SOP, low and behold, NO population was my reward.

Well poeple have been using this forever and until he told me now I thought it was supposed to happen along with many others. That trick to kill poeple not on his feed is unfair but if your planets pop died once well then its definitly gonna happen again if not invaded. If you really want to keep your planet brick it.Or else lose it to some other guy.

thing is, is that it wasnt MY planet that it happened too, it was an enemy planet. so this worked in MY favour. but im still reporting it because its the right thing to do.

Does it matter? Loads of players use this including me.If it was an exploit and you used it that doesn't mean you did the right thing XD

yes, it DOES matter, because its a free energy give away in essence. sure i spent the energy the day before t odrop the population, also used a QBV, but what if i didnt have the energy tonight and used an exploit.. im reporting it because this if the first time ive ever had it happen. Ive never had to take a second attempt at a planet where i needed to re drop the population from a significant amount. so yes, im reporting something that IS an exploit, in hopes that dan fixes it. cheating is cheating plain and simple.

you are clearly incapable of reading eh, ive never had to re try a planet that had a lot of population, so ive never thrown to virus' at a planet. so this is a first, and being the first time, im not exploiting anything, im reporting on an occurrence that i noticed. cheating would be doing it multiple times KNOWING its an exploit.

So if my friend told me that some cheat engine that gave me 999999999 Galaxy points when I clicked a button and I got the points that wouldn't be cheating?Because I didn't know it wasn't part of the game?Coolio.

Are you trolling or only a moron ? In you little story your friend told you, in icarium one's he discovered by himself without knowing such exploit existed.

the time frame was negligible less then a minute since the last one expired. im pretty hardcore on retrying for a planet if the owner hasnt noticed, and i like to try and keep my invasions on a steady income( EVERY 23 hours 59 minutes, as soon as my timer is nearly up, im hammering away at the next victim)

I actually very much like this feature, and see no need to have it fixed. If you dropped the population on a planet once, and failed to invade, then why should you have to waste another pile of energy just to get back to where you were? If the player who's planet is under attack really wants to keep it, he or she can simply alter the max population to keep the feature from working.

It's not supposed to work like that, and probably a lot of people don't know that it does. It should either be made explicit or be fixed.

Referring to it as a bug would undermine my overall point, thus I spoke of it as a feature instead. Glad you noticed that.

I've reported the auto-fill as a bug on forum before and was told of the re-kill as a solution.... Dan never got around to fix this I'm fairly certain that bigger gap leaves population behind(from gapped period) but last time I tired was over a year ago so I might be wrong...
