On long npc runs, the constant loading of the popups causes Firefox (and to lesser degree chrome) to constantly increase memory usage. It is not uncommon after 1 hour to have near 1 GB memory usage. It is not an issue with my own memory amount on the machine as I have 3GB physical, the issue is with 32 bit browsers when you hit 1.5 GB commit it dies. Well on some systems with less physical RAM I guess the memory usage is also a performance issue. Scan runs will do it as well, and if you want to identify the issue quickly set up a scan run and check the mem usage as you do so. If it can be implemented without the leak, the issue would go away. |

I meant to ask Dan in a "in game support" question. Since you posted, yeah, what's up with GL being such an memory hog ? |
