Research output not updating automatically?

I've noticed a weird thing going on with my research output (and maybe the same for mining or artifact, but I don't pay as much attention to them).
This morning (~0800) my hourly research output was 899 / hr. This evening (~2300) my research output was still showing as 899 / hr. I knew this was completely wrong because I had a couple of planets that should have been developing some time in the middle of the day. I had at the time 1798 research points accumulated (2 hours at 899 per hour). I went to my Planets tab and checked through the 3 planets that I had recently colonised to check that they hadn't already peaked, and some were at Maturing or Developing or whatever. One I noted was at 3 days + 9 hours, so definitely should have gone up in the meantime.
After flicking through the planets and going back to the Research tab my research was then showing as 927 / hr.
It seems that some kind of external stimulus is necessary to make it update these colony development bonuses? Surely that isn't how it's meant to be...

Same goes for if you change to excavator, miner, vygoid too. You have to check all your planets. It took one of my legionmates just over a week to realise when they changed to Konqul Excavator that they were losing 10% production, and they had to go through all of their planets and manually add the bonus.

old bug... really wish Dan would fix it.......
workaround: keep a notepad or calendar by your desk, noting the time and day that you invade or colonize a planet, and how many planet time vortexes you used on it afterwards make sure to check your planets after the 24 hour mark each day to pull their production rate up... (or just wait 5 days and go through all of them once)

Does this mean if I swapped from excavateur I'd keep the 10% bonus on all planets I didn't click on?

LOL. ooops. Wasn't thinking about cheating. I'm a loyal excavateur. Just wondered if the bug worked the other way.
