I've ordered our entire fleet to engage. We will focus attacks on the primary Grid-Pylons. Octafari Capital ships appear to be preparing for a retreat. If you wish to seek them out, you must hurry. Once the last pylon is destroyed, they will be gone.

Per Completion Rewards: Battle Octafari Grid-Pylon
Per Round Risks: Optional Objective - While the mission is active, you may seek out and disable uncommon Octafari Leviathan ships Battle Tab

it's a side-effect of having completed the kalvium asteroid mission ("Grid Resistance"... which gave you the kalvium fortified plating) when it was a timed mission... it makes this mission technically active....

the only reason you can't see that this mission is active is because you still have other missions before it in the chain that haven't been completed...
