Post subject:  Unable to play

I have recently tried to log in on my account and play Galaxy Legion. When I tried going to the app the page endlessly refreshed and has done so for the last 4 hours. I tried restarting my browser, my computer, I have logged off and back on to facebook, I have switched browsers nothing seems to work. I was able to log in on a friend's account and gain access to the game as well as play other facebook games on my account.

any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Just had a friend sign on to my account from a different computer same thing.

I'm guessing that the site was down, much like it seems to be today, as exactly the same thing is happening now.

:D Ha I logged out of here found myself looking at a loaded galaxy screen but I was logged out of FB...logging back onto here and then going to the game don't work... oh well back to the cold hard reality.

Its sort of intermittant....yesterday if I opened another screen and did something else for a few mins I eventually found that the screen had loaded, today however this is not the case and as such I feel that something needs to be done.

I have not been able to access this game at all today. Even after needlessly updating Firefox and it is only this game that is affected none of the others go into a constant refreshing loop.

From what we know, this appears to be an authentication problem between certain accounts and facebook. Logging out and back in works sometimes.

Now if I right click mouse press stop and then click back followed by reload... the first msg stays in constant loop

When this happened to me I dumped my browser's cache and cookies and rebooted to solve the problem.

I have cleared my cache, browsing data and all forms of history from the beginning of time (actual option), done a virus scan, tried messing wit the security levels of facebook, left it to load for hours on end as I went to class. I have not been able to get to the game so far.

I never save my history anyway ...ditto to everything else apart from going to class :D

So my guess is that this is some random anomaly then?

Now I don't suppose that the universe is going to go into decline just because I cannot log on though the lack of access will quite likely lead to a decline of interest...whatever.

On the plus side it bumps up my posting quota 8-)

The only thing left to do is to remove the app and then try to reinstall though I'll wait until tomorrow to try that.

Slight behavioural change it now times out or just sits there as a white screen without refreshing.

Removing and re-installing the app doesn't work tried that, same with blocking it.

I am losing interest fast, but I have a Dyson I am suppose to give to a friend, which is why i am so inclined to get this to work.

Truthfully I was rather hoping that the change in behaviour indicated that soon all would be well, sadly however I must now concede that both The Tooth Fairy, and Santa Claus probably do not exist after all. I am either getting the same refreshing loop or a white screen without any refreshing.

So to prevent this story from becoming stale, in future I shall refrain from posting I CANNOT PLAY msg's until such time that I can, provided of course that in the meantime I have not become addicted to Farmville and ditched this game completely.

Btw do not waste your time appealing to FB support as they are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Well I am done. If this ever works again I will just use the facebook credits I have to get GP and donate my planets to my legion if they haven't booted me already.

Yeah ok I've broken my promise if only cos I thought that I'd sussed the problem. I logged into FB using my business id, same name, same uni, same location, same pc, same browser. I then clicked onto GL and started the game as a new account (the names are not linked because I do not want to be bombarded by gaming requests).

First thing I noticed was that the address bar msg was different

AH I thought gotcha ...so I logged out and went into my gaming persona and stopped the endless refreshing of GL before pasting in the addy...no such luck it failed miserably. So wtf is going on here?

I'm now going to deleted my new test GL ID in favour of one with the same attributes as the old character. So my question is given the equipment that I have lost and assuming that the old character is in a permanent loop to nowhere will I be compensated given that most people cannot get from level 1 to lev 95 in six weeks without additional aid?

at least you've eliminated the browser as the culprit... and proved that other accounts work on your computer w/ GL...
so it's something specific to your account... either on Facebook's side or on GL's side...

Try this....
go to the Facebook Privacy settings page... http://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=privacy
from there go to the Apps and Websites page...
from there... on Apps You Use... click Edit Settings
Find Galaxy Legion and delete it...

then go to http://apps.facebook.com/galaxylegion
it should ask for you to give it permission again... let's see if this fixes the problem

if you ever see installed=1, that just means you've clicked the allow button just now
you can ignore it... i was gonna say this in my last post but didn't because i kinda hoped it was obvious enough

alright... so that didn't fix things...
on Firefox... go to Tools, Options... Privacy... Remove Individual Cookies...
in the searchbox, type: galaxylegion
(one word, no space) highlight all the cookies that appeared and delete them all.... if none showed up, please say so
then in the searchbox, type: facebook.com
delete all those cookies as well

now click close and click "clear your recent history"
make sure it's set to "Everything" at the top... and make sure "Cache" is selected (not too concerned about anything else
hit Clear Now... and close...

now on the Content tab of the options window.... make sure "Enable Javascript" is checked.
close the options window
close firefox all the way and count to 20 and start it back up again and try one more time

Deleted all cookies closed off FF and still the same refresh but only on GL

My error consul is in overdrive though probably cos of the constant refresh though what really seems to be happening is that the connection drops out
