We had this guy alerted by one of our younger players and I was shocked at the name of the legion. What is the process of getting the legion removed? Legion in question is:

Jankno
Rank 23 Konqul Raider
*ussy Lovers (9)
Combat Reputation: Balanced

The I replaced the first letter with an *... we have some younger players within our legion and this is just wrong.

hmm... i see that legion is now named Cat Lovers !!!
lol

However, there's another legion with a not-safe-for-kids name....
**** Darkness
first word is 4 letters, begins with C, and rhymes with Stunt

And yet another legion....
**** You
first word is 4 letters, begins with an F... you can guess the word i'm sure...

oh, how original...

they must be desperate for a legion name that stands out like that, since all the best ones are already taken.

Dan's pretty quick at taking care of these bad legion names... but it appears people are making bad name legions just as quick...

I just opened the legion search list and right at the bottom there was a legion with 4 capital letters separated by spaces....
C F K U... not in that order (hint, the F was first)
In their description they claim it stands for FUN UNIVERSAL COMMUNITY KID
too bad that's 27 characters, or they could have that as their legion name.... maybe Dan can abbreviate universal or community for them when he renames it

I agree that there are some things that should be banned or censored in public space, F, C and N words specifically.

However the word Pussy is not swearing, as it has far to many innocent meanings. There are allot of places/people who would not even jump to the conclusion of its meaning that you have.

At its most offensive it merely means female reproductive organ, and this is only offensive to the religiously repressed.

But to most people it just means, whimp or coward, and this is only offensive if you are the person in question.

To a whole host of innocent people the world over it means ...{drum role}.... cat.

The emotional content to these words is actually added by the person perceiving them and in reality none of these words need have power over anyone, they are ultimately just words. Release yourselves from your conditioning and you will realize that no one has the power offend you.

I will look over your religiously repressed comment.

The word is still not safe for kids, just realize that whether or not you see a problem with it. The word can still be looked at the wrong way and that alone is enough of a reason to get rid of it. I wouldnt let my kids play a game where that word, was not removed due to the connotation it could be taken.

Regardless, I don't get what's with the all the pussyfooting around and the anti-obscenity crusade on forums. What exactly is the problem here ? Doing it for the kids ? Seriously ? What's up ? Did you guys managed to end world hunger and kill poverty and now need a new target ?

With COPPA, and the way television/parents are, any body on facebook shouldn't be too offended by it

Anal Queefing
just means fart, but i but you say that on a few forums it will offend guaranteed.

my point is, there are a great many people offended by a great many things. The offense is often caused by their own ignorance of the true meanings of words. Lets stop this cow towing to the intellectually bereft.

Words are just words until you let them become more.

This is not medieval Europe, the world is not ruled by religious bigots anymore.

I find censorship offensive, would you guys swear to make me feel better? No.

Hiding behind kids is even more offensive, repugnant even and also a true violation of fb's terms. and if those kids are legally old enough to be using fb and playing addictive games, you will never (over) protect them from reading true obscenities.

This is the age of the intellectual,

DOWN WITH CENCERSHIP

Oh, the irony.
The rest is true, tho. I'd worry more about my kids spending time on FB games than them reading obscenities in the same game and/or forums. More, I am pretty sure communication (either via ship comm or inter-legion comm) is censored. I am 110% sure I've told someone to "shut the **** up" via legion comm. It isn't the case with legion chat but then again nobody is forcing anyone to play together. If you find the people in your legion offensive just find another one.

P.S.

There are things way WAY worse than words like sex or penis under-aged kids could learn from the internet these days.
