Hello, I'm mysteriously loosing energy. I was running missions and got down to a low energy count (24). I needed one more energy unit to run another mission (at 25). I watched the timer count down and instead of going from 24 to 25 units it went from 24 to 10. That's 14 units that disappeared, which just happens to be the amount of energy that I used on the last mission that I ran. I've actually seen this happen twice now. Is this a bug, or the way the game is supposed to operate?
I've also seen rank points disappear in the same way. I use some of them, keep a few left, logout, and the next day that I log-in they are all gone. I haven't watched this close enough to be more specific, but I'm going to.
Thanks

Are you sure they're simply disappearing and not being used? Check your xp has changed when this happens. (You may need to reload the game to make sure)
If you did that, and you still notice a problem, someone might've hacked your account and is playing the game and spending your points. In that case, try changing your Facebook password to something more secure. (Longer, mixture of numbers and letters, case sensitive, etc) Check to make sure your new pasword isn't emailed to your email address as well. My email address was once hacked by Nigerians and they gained access to my Ebay account through an email with a saved password.
If you're losing them though, contact Dan. It could be a bug, and if it is you're being put at a serious disadvantage, especially with the loss of rank points. Counting up your spent points will indicate if anything has been lost.

I have mentioned this before (and people think someone is using my account - this is NOT the case). Your energy is being used to complete that 14 point mission, and those ranks points went wherever you last put rank points. This happens on a regular basis on my work PC (windows XP pro with FF 3.6.6), not only with missions and rank points, but also with receiving minerals and artifacts, building planetary buildings, using probes, and uninstalling weapons.
I recommend using a different computer whenever possible. I play mostly on my home compy - a Mac - with no issues whatsoever.

Another possibility might be if you have a slow computer or internet, and you click more than once because the page doesn't load. Then, when the page loads it counts all the clicks you have made.

This is exactly the problem I'm having. It usually happens when there's a quantity bar gauge involved (such as the ones for artifact, minerals or energy.) The action of the last click gets repeated, seemingly when I leave Trade or Missions to do something else.
For instance, tonight I retrieved two clicks worth of Artifacts, leaving approx 1/4 of the Artifacts bar remaining. I went to Planets to use an artifact and when I returned to Trade, my Artifacts bar was at zero, but I had a new Phase Cutter Chassis I know wasn't there before. Also tonight, I deliberately used only half of my energy doing missions, so I could use the rest to scan for planets. I went to Trade, then Ship and suddenly noticed I had only 7 energy left.

A week later, and it is still happening on a regular basis.
Tonight, I quit doing missions with 40 energy left so I'd have enough energy to colonize a planet and maybe do some other stuff. A minute later, after I'd left Missions to go to Planets, I looked up and had 8 energy left. That is exactly what I would have had, if I'd done my last mission two more times.
This must not be a prevalent problem, or more people would be screaming about it.

Definitely not it. actually this would explain it pretty well. the game went through enough time needed to do the mission again from time given from the error messages, and then people dont realize it.

No, I mean, I click ONCE, and the event happens multiple times, be it harvesting resources, uninstalling/reinstalling an item, doing a mission, etc. And it doesn't happen immediately, it usually occurs a few minutes later. So the issue isn't multi-clicking, although I'm sure that happens to some people.
