@ Coth.. Why vote? How about Dan to choose new one that he thinks the best out of the set of applicants submitted to him? After all, he knows lot of players so far via PMs and here..

He's like a boss who shifts through resumes and select the best one to hire.. No vote progress required..

Ya that would probably be best, I think just about everyone on here is biased in some way. Of course we could just make the forums Organization free, then none of this would have or would happen in the future. Theres only been one flame war in the history of the forum that hasnt had to do with Orgs and that one was just one guy over reacting to everything. woah.....deja vu....

Who ever does get picked, should be one that can take some rants not in the open. One that can keep a level head when it counts.

As I said before, the problem with anyone who has real knowledge of the game is that they will be biased for DOO because they are DOO members or against DOO because they have had to deal with DOO members.

While DOO does have guys like NOC that are fine upstanding players, quite a few of DOO's members are not. It would be like asking a judge to stay impartial against drunk drivers when he knows they cause the majority of car accidents. (yes, I likened DOO members to drunks, for the most part both are belligerent, out of control and start brawls with people and need their friends to jump in).

I completely agree on that one. There are some good DOO members but unfortunately most that I have noticed are arrogant because they have numbers on their side. I refuse to join any organizations for this simple fact. I have friends that are members of DOO and that is only because they are good upstanding players and don't act all tough. That being said I think whoever is chosen as the new mod should in fact have the integrity to take a flaming without blinking an eye, just in case. I have seen on other forums where the mods are insulted and flamed by others, and just laugh it off. If it gets too bad then the threads are locked or deleted. Deleting threads shouldn't be a problem, other then when done so out of spite or the mod being a target.

Vote...What for? This has become a real business now, and i trust Dan's judgement to find the right person. Just as he needs games developers(I read he wants to hire more) to help him with constantly upgrading the game, Im sure he can find the right person on his "pay-role", or someone who will treat the forum in a more business like fashion and not have the emotional baggage that former moderators had. im on the fence on weather the new mod should be a player, Will is right that the mod should be knowledgeable about the game, but i also agree with Coth because we are human and can be to influenced by personal experiences.

I really dont know how many hours a day is spent actually moderating the forum, and in that sense, perhaps I should have cut Coth a little more slack. I can see how my own personal distaste of censorship and discrimination really got my blood flowing with the deletions and personal attacks on the DOO. It caused me to overlook the contributions made by Coth to this forum over a long period. While i may not have approved of his style, he did in fact do the grunt work no one else wanted to do until now. For that, we all as forum participants should be grateful for and i will say Thank You Coth.

I do feel i should be someone who "works" for Dan, as this would provide an extra level of accountability. What ever Dan decides i hope we can stop "hatein" on each other and get back to asking and answering questions, proposing new strategies, give direction/feedback to the game developers and have fun like a game is supposed to be.....I extend an olive branch to anyone willing accept it.....Sincerely Jcwiggens

Why are you all oppose the DOO they are a great team..... Yes some get a little carried away..... I know at some times i have gone a little overboard on the hacking but it was warranted....I treat my DOO members as a family and back them 100% sounds to me that your all jealous.... the idea of a team is to help one another and if your 50-100 lv higher than the person your attacking dam straight I am gona help when a lower lv asks for help.... and if you steal a planet god help you that is how DOO is.... however all you devious players out there are being rewarded now however with the new alert system...if you manage to hack or steal someone planet your rewarded by laying low for 24hr cuz you will go off their radar and seeing you can only rehack them 5 times gl at finding that planet they stole and fluxed away. Personally i have only ever alerted about 4 people to the DOO and they were only people that started things with me...... i find it repulsive and offensive the way you’re all attacking the DOO as a whole..... If you have any issue with the members bring it to the leader’s attention.

We have brought it to their attention and they still let guys like you be a member.

Well Kaos your one to talk….lets recap this whole thing in the open…..seeing you like to cry and spread lies a lot it seams. I told you the vry 1st time you hacked me that it was a mistake. You assaulted me 1st and I blew you up over it so you then blew me up….i told you even tho you were 50 lv higher than me at the time you didn’t want this fight and blew you up agin…..you then blew me up…..then I got creative and blew you up about 2 times a day while leaving myself disabled from mission so you couldn’t blow me up lol good strategy to keep the deaths off my chart in my onion hahah….. then you started alerting me to you legion for what you started getting blitsxxx and someone else involved so I blew both them up for killing and hacking me…..thats when the Doo involved on my ars….. after negotiations with the leader I was invited into the ranks of doo and greatly accepted the invitation…..under one condition I could still hack the hell out of you and seeing you were not a member they agreed…. Never once in thoe weeks did I alert you to them cuz I was man enough to go one on one but you couldn’t handle that crying I was hacking you too much. Alerting me daily to your legion and I know cuz members in the legion told me they were getting about me by you. and you were going on and on calling me a P$$ for using truces all the time to prevent you from attacking me when you were the one crying daily to you legion. Then with negotiation I thought we had come to a truce… little did I know it was only so you could buy 100 lv and come back to attack me again…so then and only then did I get the doo involved after trying to to be the bigger man and get you to just go away.

Could you guys take that rants to PM please? I might not be a mod but I am tired of seeing people rant on about something that it not needed, be stubborn and repeat the same thing over again, ect... It hurts my eyes seeing people flame each other.

If it does not help the forums it should either be private or just not said.

Its all been gone over before. Bender pointed out that the people who matter know the truth about you so I have left you alone. I am not going to highjack this thread and make it the things you have done.

My comment was only to point out the irony in your questioning the reason people say the mod should be neutral and not someone that plays. You are a perfect example of why.

Getting the thread back on topic. This is a prime example of why the mod cannot be a player. People who are in DOO would never understand the bad name DOO has (or they are thugs and like that DOO protects them when they do heinous things). The majority outside of DOO has had some kind of run in with them at some point and would never be unbiased.

The point isn't to pass judgement on DOO. Its to show that a player is going to have an opinion in one way or another that won't allow him to remain neutral.

So lets make up a group and get it away from the DOO mix. Lets say their is a group named People Offending Others. The members of People Offending Others like to do things that offend people. They love to mess with others and cause trouble. They think that is fun. Of course the people offended are well, offended.

Could a POO member be a mod? No, he is going to offend people.
Could a non-member be a mod? No he is going to be offended by POO.

That means a mod has to be nuetral, not a player.
