We think we may have found a reason why the latency has gotten worse recently. One of the data cleanup routines hasn't been running correctly for some time, making some of the specific areas of the game take longer to process. We've isolated it and already applied a fix, but need to run the cleanup manually in the meantime. Though this won't fix all areas where there is lag, this should account for a portion of it that has been "feeling" worse as of late.

Thank you Dan, we appreciate the feedback and hope your fix alleviates the issue.

Bam. All it took was me posting in the thread, and we get a response. I am awesome. In all seriousness though thank you for informing us Dan, and hopefully it clears up the issues. You rock.

And all it took was 10 whole pages to be noticed. Not that i'm not thankful, but do you think you could pop in around page 1 or 2 next time and say you're looking into it, even if you're not, it would let us know that you are aware of the problem.

I didn't do anything on my end, and (since lag is my fault somehow) I don't know what something on Dan's server has to do with it...... but, definitely an improvement.

You left your tin-foil hat on your modem and must've knocked it off recently, this is why the lag isn't so bad now.

I believe it needs another manual cleanup, i noticed several times tonight during a base attack, that there were several seconds of lag occurring, really quite minor lag, but at the same frequency of occurrence as the previous issue, so possibly related.
