Attacked but Can't Alert Legion

I was attacked by someone while I had a Halcyon Trap set:
"1 hour, 55 mins ago XX XX attacked you and set off your Halcyon Trap!"
But when I click on XX XX to check out their ship, possibly retaliate and alert my legion, I get:
"You can only send an alert against players who have disabled, hacked, raided, invaded, or used an artifact on you in the last 24 hours."
Did my trap disrupt their attack, so that I did not receive damage and therefore was not "technically" attacked?

You can only send an alert against players who have disabled, hacked, raided, invaded, or used an artifact on you in the last 24 hours.
