I'm being hacked fairly regularly right now, and so I am keeping a very close eye on my RP.

Twice today, I have been at 0 RP - verified visually moments before being hacked, with a reasonable period of time left before my next hourly refill, and have been hacked and "lost" RP.

The loss didn't put me negative - I was at 0 RP before, and 0 RP after, and the person who hacked me confirmed they got the RP and did not get the message saying there was nothing to get.

So what is going on here?

Had a few RP from something, but the info at the top didnt refresh properly? Possibly from an NPC.

Any chance you hit an npc that gives rp?

Nah. Here's why -

I ticked off a high level player. So, I've been disabled all morning. So I haven't been doing missions or attacking NPCs - I've been pretty much idle, but because I'm being hacked, I am regularly on and spending my RP.

So - I know I had 0 RP for a fact, and that I had none due in for nearly thirty minutes, when I got hacked for a "loss" of 208 RP. And afterwards, I was STILL at 0 RP. So even if I had gotten some RP from somewhere - it would have been a weird amount (what gives 208 RP in a shot?)

Then, I got hacked again - 15 minutes later - absolutely without having done anything to gain RP, and again, knowing truely that I was at 0 RP beforehand. I "lost" 260 RP - and was still at 0 afterwards.

So I asked the guy hacking me, and he confirmed he thought it was weird, and that he did get the RP, not a message about having nothing to hack.

It's a legitimate... whatever it is. Bug? Happenstance?

And a third time. I spent my RP about 15 minutes prior, was at 0, and actually looking at my RP of 0 when the notification that I'd been hacked for 214 RP came through.

Still at 0.

no counter hacks in the log?

Could it have been that your daily came in from base and that your page didn't refresh? I have noticed that sometimes, with my RP, That even when i refresh it doesn't show up at top but i am still able to use it. Also seems GL is a bit more buggy when FB is having issues and i've noticed alot of chat issues with FB yet again today.

No to the Counter-Hack. None in my log, and again, I was looking at my RP in two of these three hacks and knew for a fact it was at 0 and had been at zero.

No to the base. Got that this morning. And the Dysonian base gives enough RP that I'd have had plenty left over if that'd been the case. I'm still at 0 at this moment.

Truly, there's been nothing - no action on my part, and no automatic action, that would have given me RP at just the right moment. And those automatic actions all give MORE RP than what was stolen, meaning in the end I should have had some left over - but my RP was at 0 before, and was still at zero after, and is at zero now.

maybe he's hacking the research youve put into tech already? i mean not "stealing" but just copying some files down before you kick them outta the system?

That would be a good in-game explanation, but that would require a change in the way hacking currently works. If that's what has happened, well and good. But historically if you hack someone who has 0 RP you are told that you were successful but there was nothing to steal.
