locks on NPC are meant to be a safe spot, but with the introduction of NPCs that can repair themselves, the locks can be meaningless. Any possible adjustments?

There is 2 possible solution : (3, in fact, which I will introduce later) 1. Increase the maximum hull equal to hit points repaired, thus increasing the damage required to lock the NPC - and players will lose the lock. 2. Reduce the damage dealt for each player proportional to their % of damage dealt. In the case of full repair, all damage is removed (very highly unfavorable to the first damage dealers) The last option is : 3. Remove the repair ability lol

Rank 899 So.... I'm just a tad under.
Neither of the proposed solution (save for removal of the type of ability) really solve the problem. Fact is that the lock is supposed to represent a guaranteed reward, so if it can be removed by later event, it's not much of a lock. Removal of repair also isn't a good idea IMO as it reduces the richness of the game. The best solution, IMO, is to change the icon and the description so that it represent a fair share and reward in most cases. That's what the lock always meant anyway, fair share. We all know that it is not the real guaranteed reward threshold (we all know about soft locking, right?). Any other fix (such as specifically removing concept of lock from NPCs that can repair) would likely to be excessively complicated for the matter.

If it's only repair 500, or some fixed amount, then we can substract the damage from the hitter who proc'ed the repair.

If it's only repair 500, or some fixed amount, then we can substract the damage from the hitter who proc'ed the repair. In theory, that would work in most cases. But also in theory, even if that's true there could be problems. If an attacker deals very low dmg per attack such that even at 500/repair the repair is more than the damage(over a certain number of attacks that is, such as 10% proc 500/repair while dealing only 40 dmg/attack), then in theory he'd end up with a negative damage value and for whatever reason gives up. Now, that is fine in itself, he won't get a spot and that is all. But if his negative value is, for example, more than twice that of a lock value, then I'm sure you can see how it could be problematic. Of course, 500/repair makes it rather unlikely, but for a much bigger "some fixed amount" this could very well be true.
