Actions.

Chakotay Joined: Fri May 14, 2010 7:30 pm Posts: 1529	Actions. Some point me in the direction explaining how actions go up other than attacking/raiding/or hacking someone? Being busy tonight and disabled since this morning. After getting zero'd.. my actions have gone up 3. Huh?

Each action has it's own 24 hour timer. right, but he was being zeroed. he asked how he regained actions. if you have zero actions, after 24 hours, they will reset to 3/5/5 if you are at zero. if you are in the negatives, you will not hit this mark after 24 hours. As for actions gained... i've had over 100 actions at one time, and yet have just over 100 deaths. these actions went away over the course of 48 hours. by approximately 50% per day. its also why if you are a mild-heavy pvper and lose all your actions quickly, after 24 hours you can go negative. IE the last person i zeroed had 14 hacks/raids. i then dropped em all to zero, and after 24 hours, he had -7/-7. _________________

Yes, wolfprince01 was aware of that, and didn't suggest such a thing.

Vekno Joined: Mon Nov 29, 2010 9:48 am Posts: 3900	Re: Actions. i will admit, i'm not 100% sure on my theory. i've just observed that from what i've seen in pvp... i have almost 30 actions now. i'll see if it goes down by 50%, or if it goes down proportionally to 3/5/5 because i've gained them all in one day. Or, if dan wants to address this, then he can clear everything up without a doubt. _________________

What I proposed was not a timer but a visual display of the action count (black lines). To have a timer, it would by necessity have to skip and jump from one action to the next which I imagine could get pretty messy coding it. Hope this mini-tutorial helps clarify things. I posted this in response to the TM lockout at 50 total offensive actions, but the visual works for individual Action Counts as well. Each Action would have its own yellow bar. Disables, Raids, Hacks. As someone else said, doing one of any of those raises your count for all three by one tick. Now for example, lets say you are looking at your hacks count. As time (red box) progresses to the right, past actions fall out the left end after 24 hours. Every action you performed 24 hours ago that drops out will now LOWER your hack action count by 1 countering the positive 1 added when you performed that action. Every hack performed against you 24 hours ago that drops out will now RAISE you hack action count by 1, again countering the negative 1 added when you got hacked. As you go, your Action Count works its way back to its origin (3/5/5). Now, having said all that... I have to agree with Someone Somewhere. People with no actions, should not be able to fling artifacts willy nilly without consequence, and something should be changed. _________________ Ranks 400+ Join us in exploring.. Also, your actions reset every 24 hours. I'm still confused how the numbers went up when it wasn't 24 hours since I was zero'd. I understand they reset every 24hours. But does it have to go up to count the excess hacks? Can't use offensive artifacts when disabled...

Only thing I can think is the raids after being disabled is from the actions I did 24 hour previous? I did do raids yesterday morning before getting disabled to get my last armory. Think that is it. Noticed the attacks stopped at 12 hours. 24 hour after my last offensive action?
