I noticed this problem with the High Energy Relays and seems to be the same problem with Plasma Relays.
I can install up to 4 of them and still get nothing better than having my energy at 22 / hr (without anything, it is 21 / hr). And have talked with my friend and believes there is something amiss here with them. And I can get 22 / hr with just one relay..the other additional relays (be it high or plasma) seem to do nothing.
What is going on here?

Look at how much they reduce and that might be the big part is the rest total making a big enough difference time wise to be worth having on the ship.
Last time I upgraded my relays I got 3 more energy per hour. That is with a 1:50 timer ATM (33 energy per hour). First one did not change the amount at all but the last three added an energy an hour each.

your getting energy faster but that .19573(random #) you get for each relay isnt enough to increase the amount you get per hour by 1.

with plasmas it is 6 secs..that is a total of 24 seconds.
Based on my math, that would be 1 new energy from 2:50 to 2:26. and 2:26 into 60 minutes is definitely more than 22 (24.657...).
So definitely something is amiss here...namely since it does take off 20 energy for each one.

The most important thing is to determine if the relays are properly reducing the amount of seconds per point recharge. All ships start with 3:00 per 1 energy, so it should be easy to check how many seconds are counting down in each iteration. The 'per hour' calculation is supposed to represent a rounded figure based on this, but its just for convenience.
