sounds like flamehawks for lower ranks. 2 complex tech for something that takes 6-8 hits to kill (probably alot more for people who didnt invest in good weapons)? not to mention only 20 xp? at least dark runners give 25, and chargers give 30. looks like we have another obstacle to overcome in the race to the endgame.

I think we need information from a few more ranks to decide how tough it is.

Higher attack and defense, but lower health than the Flamehawk, and this is 160 levels after you start seeing Flamehawks. I believe they're much easier then, because the high health is what makes Flamehawks so difficult, considering their damage cap, but I would like to hear from much lower levels (<100).

I gotta stand by them on getting this one. Even Dan agreed that we are really short on variety of NPSs, especially right now, and especially really low level ones that provide any CTP at all. Of course, I don't think they're as much an obstacle as Vekno thought, either.

i have one on my battle tab but it dosent say when it will expire :?

Does this mean it will be visable untill destroyed???

Oh gawd you're right, no expiration time... on top of all the other crap... I've just run through a bunch of NPC and it is indeed really bad for the ratio, worse than flamehawks. Now 1/2 the commons suck instead of 1/3. Tech parts have no value at high rank except for the base, and the tech parts it gives are kind of sad. I just went Drannik to have some fun with NPC... this is not a fun npc.

Any way to lower scan... I would do it.

well, at rank 296, it takes me 7-8 hits to kill them. thats as much as a stryll trapper or a rogue data analyzer. plus, theyre common, drop 20xp (awful) and drop 1-2 complex tech parts. that part isnt soooo bad. it could be worse i suppose. but still, bad commonality, bad drop rate, bad xp, bad expiration timer. this is definitly meant to slow people down from leveling. which is why i said its the flamehawk for low ranks, not because of its exact stats, but because it slows low ranks down so much.

Recommend to drop all scan, if you don't have all the mission reward modules, you can go under 50 scan and avoid these. At higher ranks, well you can't avoid them :(

Ran into a pair of these myself today. think for me it was about a dozen shots each, maybe less, I wasn't counting. It wouldn't be as bad if Dan would bump the Tech Part drop up some.

The low tech drop amounts are probably an indicator of how common these new ships are going to be since it will take many to amount to anything =/

in the ship description it says that they HORDE tech parts, and in my mind, that says they'd have a lot more than 2 tech parts, that's not really a horde, that's more of the beginning of a collection.

Edit: Oh, also, I'm a rank 254 and the ships stats were

yea that was the third one today..... 2 dropped 2 tech parts and 1 dropped 1 tech part .......DAN !!! please up the drop amounts totally not worth the energy.

Getting tech parts for sulcation portals/missions from ppl is easy enough; that means the only potential purpose is what Noc stated: hundreds of thousands of tech parts for base upgrade. Boss drops scrap value is sparse. But if you don't care about reaching that high of a level (> 6 base) fast, then this is just a pain in the butt. Even with it, the entire legion would need to heavily NPC to get enough parts. The xp ratio appears to be "around 3.0" but not solidly above 3.0 anymore for NPCing (and I'm drannik even with 2 max radiant cannons, I just changed to NPC better and now this thing appears ... great).

Flux Ringdisc: An advanced prototype multi-transmitter. Increases scanning and cloaking abilities by 30.
--> If you have not gotten this yet, DO NOT get it if you want to NPC for planet drops. You will be forced above 50 scan to see this new NPC. Yes, you will sacrifice the krionite transducer, but trust me this NPC is worse than not having the charge in the long run. Drop all scan modules (there is no real "crit" from scan, or its effect is not worth it from all my damage sampling experiments, just focus on attack).
