So what is to keep two legions from just sitting around farming badges from each other?
One shares a planet to a legion mate.. that mate take it and leaves the legion.
It's now on both their tabs... and every 12 hours they trade it?
Same idea with combat.. two people find each other and they just trade counts every 12 hours? or even a group of people?
There is a lot of room for abuse in this badge system.
Am I missing a rule to it somewhere?

alot of wasted credits and no one likes to have a ton of disables on their action count.

If you are attacking anyway how are credits wasted?
and if you trade counts what does it hurt?
this badge system is seriously flawed.

The rewards for badges are not so amazing that anyone would really be rewarded for putting the time and effort into working the system.

The planet pass back and forth sounds like a good exploit but the cost for each invasion can be prohibitive if you already have a large number of planets. The building reward is only really efficient in specific circumstances and even then you'd have to figure how long it would take for your marginal increase in mineral production to cover the cost of the invades.

Worse, the 24 hour invade cooldown can be a major opportunity cost.
Several times, I have invaded a planet and within 24 hours the opportunity to grab an even better one comes up and I miss it unless I want to use a precious Paradox Generator. How much worse would the disappointment be if I missed out because I was mucking about trying to earn badges?

The other badges aren't quite as costly but the 12 hour cooldown means you'd have to coordinate a lot of people together and figure out a very efficient system of trading badges between unique partners to find a way to earn them faster than through actual hunting.

Yes, but if you keep trading back the same planet and don't colonise others, the cost of doing this will be constant, since invasion cost is based on number of planets owned, not number of invasions you've ever attempted. If the cost is high, you could always let each other hold the planet for a day or two between invasions.

So perhaps changing the cost to number of invasions ever attempted would help to offset this exploit?

Several legions (at least one) has that level of coordination now.
They keep an artifact bank somehow through Facebook.
There are several legions that operate multiple legions to handle overflow and player groupings.
Many legions operate brute squads.
the level of organization to exploit the badge system would be much below all that effort.
you could reduce costs a lot by making weak ships during the efforts.

Instead of cost per invasion attempt going up maybe make the badge unique to a planet.
its pretty pricey now to invade.. unless very low level.

The level of coordination to get these badges significantly faster than through normal play is ridiculous. Keeping a roster of players pales in comparison.

Getting two players together is easy but they can only score on each other every 12 hours at best.

Worst case scenario for a hacker is one every 2 hours if you get hit with a virus every single time.
You would have to get 6 players on either side to somehow find each other on their scans to equal this.
That's twelve people to keep organized in real time.

Even if you pull it off and you all get your badge toys before anyone else, the advantage they give is not so great that it will break the game until the other players catch up in a few days.

Judging by comments on the forums, alerting someone to your legion so you can dogpile them for badges is a far more efficient method of exploiting the system and it's not even an exploit, just a practice some people complain about.

Bottomline, yes, it is possible to exploit the badge system but the advantages won for the time and effort put in don't worry me at all.

All so the amount it take for upper ranks to take a planet is insane, i go broke in 5 invasion. I did see this when it first came out but its just to costly i think most ppl will just atk other ppl planets rather then getting unoccupied ones every 4 ranks.
