I am looking at amodest goal of 10% of my total production /hr for each resource. But I don't understand how many of you have arti production in the 10k+ range? I amonly at 5K/hr and would love guidance on how to increase it. BTW I am scanning for other arti planets. Thank you for your assistance

1. Don't take non maxed(VL 15x+) Mining Planets. Or Toxics that you can turn into such. Try not to take research planets that are less than VM R. This will keep your slots open for artifact planets.

2. Trade Planets using Facebook Groups and the Trading Post on the forums. CTP will be required, NPCing and selling artifacts on the Trade Market can get you some.
3. NPC heavily for terraformers to use on promising artifact planets.
4. Beg for scrap arti planets from extremely high rank players(This one is Iffy and may not work.)
5. Buy large amounts of EM, and If you spend money use GP Refills, to do the purger mission until you run out of EM. Use said purgers to prepare to scan for more arti planets. Going to grey or not is up to you.

Well it was an ill considered idea in the first place.

Switch to excavator :D ask your legion mates to alert some enemy planets or lower your standards for planets. Go back and upgrade your artifact planets with more efficient buildings and structures, that may seem miniscule but it adds up. Like serne said trading is the way to go, Just keep on scanning

Take any defence (or attack) structures off any planets that don't have great production, so they are pure production (pp) planets. Just about every unoccupied planet you scan is a dime a dozen and not worth defending when you could squeeze some extra production out of it instead. As you build better planets (ones that you should cloak but at least try to defend), you should increase the min production you expect from any planet which will increase the "cut-off" between pure production planets and planets you defend, ie. if your min. production is 200 aph then any planet below 2x MR becomes a pp planet, then later on any planet below 4x MR (250 min. production), then anything under 6x MR (300+ min. production) and so on. It all adds up in the end.

And a big +1 to the suggestion of NPC hunting so you can build planets that really make a difference to your aph. There really isn't any amount of trading or begging for planets that will ever increase your production like hunting NPCs. The only thing that compares is buying gp items to build planets and tbh what you want to do is a combination of both, hunt for terraformers and a few QSEs as well as the ctp to buy melters, gaia seeds etc. then spend some cash on RTs and the extra QSEs you need.

You don't need mission planets, but honestly if you are hardcore and plan to play for a while and willing to spend money, get your mission planets ASAP. The sooner you get them, the sooner your arti begins to build, which makes your ship stronger to npc, more artis to sell for ctp and make more planets. Make wise choices though and make sure you build then right from the outset.

Completing the trelith mission and Klorvis mission will help boost your arti production quite a bit. Especially if you have pimped out rift planets.
