ok, I'm no new member so I wasn't going to post there, but I have a question. I haven't seen any T.O. Carriers and I'm not seeing terraformers from my artifact production, it's at 19000. So my question is, when can i expect to see T.O. Carriers and are terraformers still in artifact production?

1900 or 19000, even the biggest guys don't have that much arti production.

Anyways, the chances of you seeing a teraformer from an arti drop is so low, it's practically non existent. If you want TFs farm mobs. And I mean crap tons and crap tons of mobs. T.O. troop carriers are the one's that drop the terraformers I believe, but it's not guarnateed every time either.

I think he means his total artifact bar is 19k.

And WTF is with everyone calling the NPCs mobs?

Ya I agree they are called NPC's. I don't know where mobs came from. Anyways. Yes you are right the T.O. Troop Carriers are the ones to drop them and they drop them just about every time. Every once and a while you get one that instead of a Terraformer drops an expander. So either way it is a good deal for you. :D

Generally speaking, NPC's in a mmo is a NON-player-Character. That may denote a myriad of characters that may not be killable. Mobs are the common term for Monsters, because the fastest way to Level or farm something is to group them together and use an area of effect attack =..=. If you guys played anything else besides GL that's where the term comes from.

Obviously these two terms doesn't really make sense in GL since there are no, "merchant" or "quest" giver Npcs only killable ones, nor can you "mob" something in the true sense of the word. But yeah =). Cleared.

T.O. Troop Carriers
are rare very rare!
Just do NPC in your battle page and maybe you'll see one? Since the change Dan made this past summer I've seen 3! and I'm in the Dysonians regularly battling NPC's.

Interesting, none of the other 5 multi-player FB games I play use that word either.

You will get more and more as you get stronger and start killing more. I have got two so far today alone. Of course I have most likely killed more today than most of you have in a week or so. Don't know that for sure but I have got around 14 boss alerts out so far as well. You be the judge. Just keep killing and you will get all sorts of upgrades.

Mob is a really old term, predates Eq and Warcraft. NPC's in some of the original test-based MMO's were called Mobile Programs, and was shorthanded to mobs. It just kinda stuck around since then.

yeah, yeah, mojo... we're not big dogs like you so the little things in life still get us pretty excited...

I've been following your advice about NPCs (AKA mobs) and in the last 2 weeks went from about 50 or so to over 400. Got some nice stuff (for my level) so far and I'm looking forward to getting even more. Thanks mojo

No problem Darth. Glad I could help and to see that others have taken my advice. I was wandering if anyone has been doing that and if it was working for them. Thanks for letting me know. If you ever have any further questions please feel free to ask. I love to help in any way I can. :D

I mean saved up right now, and I've seen people posting about terraformers being cut from the artifact drop. Are you saying they're still there?

The term 'mob' (meaning 'mobile' - itself a shortened form of 'mobile entity') is a holdover from the days of MUDs and other primarily text-based internet games, the earliest of which were developed on dial-up bulletin boards a good while before the public internet as we know it and long before D&D and other pen-and-paper roleplaying games (and hence the term NPC, for 'non-player character') were generally accepted.

Sacrificing a virgin to your gods would be the best way. If you don't have a virgin try with a goat or in the worst case a chicken.

I am not sure if my timing is wrong or yours. D&D was initially published in 1974. I was helping run a dial up bulletin board in the early 1990s. I think the public internet as we know it started somewhere between the late 1980s and early 1990s. When were the MUDs you are talking about developed? The wiki suggests that the first ones were developed based on D&D in 1975.
