I am new to Galaxy Legion and need some advice to govern my ship. I like to pvp: I am Human Raider Rank: 11 Energy: 90 Hull: 145 Shields: 20 Attack: 84 Defense: 29 Scan: 1 Cloak: 0
I have installed: Ion Cannon, Whipple Plating, Hardened Titanium Plating
My Stats: Battles: 147 Disables: 29 Disabled: 0 NPC Kills: 5 Planets Found: 8 Planets Occupied: 2 Planets Captured: 0 Scans performed: 16 Hacks: 0 Raids: 2 (13 yellow badges)
How am I doing?

At that low a rank I don't really know how to advise you, but joining a training legion would be beneficial, usually these legions have experienced leaders and officers to help you along the way

I would recommend getting away from human as soon as possible. Human will make you rank faster, and anyone will tell you that's not a good thing for pvp.

my advice step 1 : reset -> chnage race / profession. Since you like to PvP I would suggest either Konquol or Aerlen and fixer for both. There is alot of discussion that could be done as to which of the races would best suit you, but I will save that for later, its rather late here.
step 2 : rank to 19 and hold for a while, research nothing but planetary strucutres until you have researched global meshing stage 1 ( +5 planet structures ) those will last you for a good while. Anyone will tell you that artifacts are the best resource in the game, they are right. However at low levels its all research, they faster you get it the better.
step 3 : best way to get raids for your protean armories ( you WANT these ) is to add your rank points to crew. WHEN USING RANK POINTS ON CREW, ONLY EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ADD RANK POINTS INTO ENGINEERS AND TACTICAL OFFICERS -> look in a mirror and repeat that to yourself <- NEVER ADD RANK POINTS TO SCIENTISTS OR CARGO ( you can add them to helmsman if you want, however it is not that great of an idea )
now things that you really should decide for yourself are how you want to build your ship, size class wise. small medium large
they all have theiri pros and cons, but it is a playstyle thing, and it should fit yours. ( this is the part of step one i was refering to )
Good luck in your pirating carrier, and happy to see a new name on the fourms.

Started (still am, too far to turn back and reset for me) Human Raider due to lack of research on my part. I'm not doing bad, and Raider is cool and all, but you definitely do not EVER want to start out as a Human. That extra exp gain is unnecessary, and is bad for you this early on. Fixer is useful, partly for the hull bonus, but mostly because it will make you a more attractive recruit to more powerful legions; fixers are useful for defending the legion's base. Oh, and raid like mad. Re-raid until you succeed, open multiple tabs of your disabled ships if you have to. Open multiple tabs of weak, likely-to-be-disabled-upon-sighting ships and wait for them to be disabled by others first to raid them if you don't have the energy to disable them yourself. Ask Avenge in your legion for more advice. He's doing it right.

It makes a massive difference choosing the best race for yourself. My konqul bonus gives me stronger invasion chance and inflicts more damage to enemies such as NPCs and other players hence less energy needed to disabled them. Other races such as Vygoid Excavator is the probably the best race to pick as a beginner - Bonus 20% Research and 10% Artifact - I stuck with Vygoid until i hit about 5000 Research an hour then switched to Konqul as researched most of the crucial things i wanted.
Being a Vygoid generally let's you race to lvl 5 structures then lvl 10 structures relatively quickly, also other tech like energy and scanners are also important, rely on badge items when < rank 50 for Attack such as Dominion Cannons since they're small and very efficient. Get Bm50 Shuttles after rank 50 for defence since they're small and efficient too and because "researched" defence modules are massive. Protean Armories are fairly difficult to get at low ranks, invest your rank points into decks, protean armories aren't a crucial item - "Researched" hull plating are still decent, Microgel and Durtanium plating are less efficient but still effective and you will need decks for other modules. (All my defence modules take up half my ship space).

i am 100 disables away from the 1k medal ... and am using NO researched atk or def modules. DO NOT install decks for either of those. only install decks if you need room for researched hulls or ... well, at your level of pvp, that's pretty much it. if you have spare space, that's when you put on the extra mods.
however, this model only works if you have a supportive legion that provides resources you do not get yourself, and in sufficient quantity. hacking and raiding do NOT gain any xp. patience pays off in the long run in this game.

Trust me resetting is the best thing you can do, especially considering your race and the fact that your so low ranked.

Yeah a restart before you're too high ranked would be most beneficial. Hell you could dish out some cash and just change your race and profession.

At rank 11 a reset is definitely the best choice. Especially if you want to pvp. Even if you did want to rank fast I would say inergon is better.

If you are looking for a good training legion then you are welcome in Galaxy Wombats. We are currently producing pure artifact (Which helps ALL ranks) though we may be moving to produce some research as well. We have a level 6 base. If you are going to reset then be a Konqul Fixer, research Weapons > Hull > Defense primarily (Don't let other things, like Planetary production, fall behind though) and PvP until you have 1300 red badges. Don't like PvP? Then my suggestion would be to PvP until you have 1300 red badges. I don't care what people like or dislike really; it's best to get the red badges for four Dominion Cannon Mk. IIIs and four Upgrades whilst you are in the lower ranks where PvP is much easier; you'll want them later on. Konqul Fixer makes PvPing easier and more efficient and is a good start for a strong build. Click the link below if you want to join Galaxy Wombats. http://apps.facebook.com/galaxylegion/l ... Welcome to Galaxy Legion. you will have fun here.
tips from me:
if you want to level up quick, go to inergon...humans arent a good race at all.
try and reach durtanium plating by rank 20. and plasma cannons, defensive thrusters Mark III.
concentrate on PvP, not NPC so much.
find a good, helpful legion for lower ranks. silens Galaxy Wombats would be a good bet.
go 4 decks/ 1 crew member each rank up.
planets (especially artifact planets) are essential. dont neglect planets. or money.
have fun!
