What do you do apart from hacking when you plan to not level for extended periods of time in this game ? doesn't it get a bit boring after a while ?

You trade, and make a lot of cash, then you buy planets and get your prod even higher. It may seem a little boring at first but doors open when you have money.

Also, it gives you more time to troll the forums asking the auto-rankers if they're bored of clicking "attack" on NPCs for 3 hours a day every day.

Of course, they never respond, they're too busy clicking "attack".

And don't forget, if you're freezing your rank, you can still vulture for yellow badges. I don't know what you'd use them for after you've got your armories, but hey, something else free to do with energy.

shame there is not a option to stop getting EXP like a tick box next to the total EXP box that lets you choose to get or not to get EXP, be cool if you also had the option to get ctp in exchange but I think that might be asking to much :)

freeze dosnt mean you have to stop ranking at all, just do LOW xp missions, like Purgers, will set you back wastly, also base attacks, you are really lucky if you get 2xp per energy

starchart purgers, will give you also -5 energy per use, scan planets (xp return also is just laughable)

I tend to do NPC's in small bursts so I don't get bored - typically I'll use 'em to get the xp I need to level in the morning and then do missions. Occasionally I'll auto-level, but not very often - it'd be mind-numbing to do continuously.

I just level for the day, then use the rest of my energy on purgers. And trolling. Lots of trolling.

Base contribution has low exp return. can pump purgers and then use them for a less then 2:1 ratio. CT lab. Races that upgrade planets. Base attacks and scanning also give low exp. Comm people. Lots of them. Ive spent a bunch of energy doing that. Sent a message to my whole legion, and a ton of bt people. Comm, bump and another comm. Gets some interesting responses.

Well, I once stopped ranking completely for almost half a year. I take snapshots of my ship's progress, compare it to the initial shot before the freeze, get happy, get motivated, get pumped up, and carry on freezing.

I know this is the wrong route to go, but I occasionally just let my energy bar overflow.

Honestly, if I have nothing worth spending it on, why spend it?

Technically, I'm slow ranking right now, just until I finish the exotic chain and get NPC slots 5 & 6. Depending on my level, and how many modules I still have in my cargo, or if I still need to finish installing my defense modules (after tomorrow, I will need 39*3 ship-bots to install the final 3)

Define "slow ranking" Silver. I'm ranking every 2-3 days, which to me is scarily fast. Perhaps I need to research energy a bit more...

Well. For the most part, I do not usually use relays. At the moment I am. 42 energy/hour is alot more than I am used to.

Strm, I also rank about every 2-3 days. The usual range is 48-60 hours, however, I do reach 72 hours or more depending on how busy my life is, if I fall asleep with a full energy bar, or if I am involved in a big base battle.

hate to bump this, but I do have a serious question, and I figured I could ask it here rather than make a new thread.

What's the big issue with just letting your energy overfull. I really don't care... I like having the energy just in case I need it for something, but other than that, I only use it for the CTL and purging planets. I see no issue with letting my energy to waste. I don't need it, and I want to freeze rank until I fill up all my planet slots.
