I've got a question about scanners. Basically I'm currently a level 337 aerlen fixer who just found Caelon. I also found the silthion hybrid larva a few weeks back.

I'm of course quite happy about that, but now I don't NEED to have my scan above 2k. Can you think of any reason why I shouldn't lower my scan, and if I do lower my scan what would you lower it to considering my level and the gameplay that goes on at that rough level?

I'm personally tempted to go full blown inergon explorer with only enough scan to hit 600 and just finish powering my way through all the assorted missions in the two chains (I'm already half way through the first silthion mission). 600 would allow me to see all the good npc's that I know of including the silthion hybrid drones when I get to that mission.

So is there any solid reason to keep it higher than 600?

3k scan for the daily mission until you get the 4 omnifield regulator modules

Which has a MinRank of 400, so no... no good reason to keep 2000 scan until then.

Apparently the mission Silthion Hybrids requires you to have 1500 scan the whole mission and not just to find the hybrid larva. At the very least, before I sold off my big scanners, I did a scan blitz and found lots of shinies. Now I need to work back up to 1500 scan to get to the t gemini's.

Depends how paranoid you are other protecting your planets, lower scan means lower resistence to hacking and higher chance to be crit hacked.
