With the claiming of two spheres of new era, I have an idea I want to execute.
I will be finishing up Hyperflux Signaling here soon, and I plan to go on a pretty large scanning spree. My idea is to complete my last completions of prototype engineering, then complete signal alignment, get my 4 Co-aligned Signal Processors (And with their build cost, keep them online)

Then, I plan to switch to Aerlen Explorer to complete the two Aerlen only missions, then scan as an aerlen explorer. My last scan run I had a scan of 4157.5 (I screwed up and forgot to install some scan modules. Since then, I've also gotten my second AI core. My scan (Without the Explorer bonus) should be (Without the scan % buffs, but with the subspace seeker and Tachyon cylinder it's already 478.5 higher then my last scan run) 5795. With the explorer bonus, 6722, which is over 1k scan. Is it worth it just to boost my scan up by almost 1k?

Also, I will be stopping by as a konqul to do the konqul training mission before I return to a vygoid builder, leaving me with one galviz device to go drannik builder once I finally unlock it.

Are there any really easy to get scanning devices (As in less then 5k energy per device) that aren't NPC modules that I'm missing?
And is it worth it to go aerlen explorer just to scan?

Not with Hyperflux scanners and missing mods. You should wait to use explorer when you are nearly maxed on scan. And if you do make a switch just to do scanning, my personal choice would be Inergon Explorer. The 10% energy bonus might get you a couple more planets without having to use a refill.

So I should go ahead and wait until I have almost every single scan module? (Not counting the CTL items)
I guess I should've mentioned my only reason for changing races (besides the explorer profession) for the scan spree was so that I could get 3 easy mission completions, since I am a little behind (rank 290, 392 missions done, 43/86 I want to get done for the krionite transducer)

In the grand scheme of things, those aerlen missions really aren't worth using a race change when you have that many missions to do yet.

Oops! I did this back when I was level 35 or so (I'm still only 79). Went from Inergon Physicist to Aerlen to Konqul and back to Inergon. I'm thinking I should have chosen fixer over physicist, but as I don't spend want to spend money on the game for at least another 3 months, I'll be sticking with physicist for now.

Oh well, at least I got 2 spheres for New Year and I'll be getting the mission race change items soon-ish.
