I'd advise shields, at least up to Rifts, which give access to Planetary Shields. If you've got any good planets, you'll be needing those Planetary Shields. |

guessing you arent running many cores? if you are doing the slow rank thing then hulls are better than shields...get 5 of the best on before you research more shield tech. if you arent ranking slowly then energy...cant do anything without using energy |
