I am ranking too fast. Part of it is my play style but part of it is the way the system is set up.

One of the places that I would love to see a change is base energy donations.

If you offered an option to donate as much energy as you want (no 2k cap) but you do so for no experience, I think more people would donate and more people might even buy refills to donate. I know people, myself included, who would buy more refills for the base if most of their energy didn't go to waste.

This would also allow slow levelers do drop energy in the base for even slower leveling.

Again, this would be an additional option to what we have now, not instead of.

More options = good!

Edit: could someone move this to suggestions? I thought that's where I posted it.

If you wanted to do this as a setting option that you could set yourself to no experience for base donation that would be fine with me, but I want to keep my experience for donating.

Man, your reading comprehension is poor.

I'm not sure how many players are desperate to rank slowly. At the moment the ratio is pretty low for energy donations - far lower than any other activity apart from hacking and raiding (which gives no XP).

It also only works as a base setting for llegions which are entirely slow rankers. I don't think there are more than a handful of those at best.

I think I understand the purpose though. The perfect slow ranking strategy would be to gain a few levels to get planets and just stay there getting resources but never levelling up. That way it might be possible for players to be rank 150 and run a QCB weapon after a year or two of playing GL. This can be done by simply not doing anything with your energy. It might as well be used for the base but at the moment that means getting XP.

I'm a quasi-slow ranker so I know the advantages. I kill NPCs but usually level once a day and sometimes twice. Other NPC hunters can level 5 times in a day. i've researched to the penultimate tier of all ship tech apart from cloaking at rank 400. Just going through he penultimate tier of that now.

I am not a slow ranker by any means but I am also not a wasteful ranker. At the moment, I can't donate enough energy to the base without leveling up. It is not worth refilling because I can only donate a small amount to the base with a huge amount going to waste.

I am now in the 700 levels and I would much prefer to be 'younger'. While I can't go back, this would be a good way to keep me from going forward as fast as I can while at the same time, supporting my legion and Dan.

I've already lost out on NPCs that drop things I use (refineries) and ones the give me decent items to scrap and what CTP I get needs to go to the new mission (4k CTP, ouch).

This would at least help me donate to the legion without moving me so far ahead.

Very interesting. Well, I am always for more options in the game... especially ones that let players slow down! :P

not sure this is a good idea some people could just stay a lower lvl and just poor energy into the base.

NPC level caps. That's why.

No more easy Lazuli Titans and Lazuli bosses past level 600.
No more queens past level 900.
No more fabrication plants past level 1000.

Again, that's why I made this request as an addition, not an instead of. I am 700+, leveling up is great for the energy I get but really crappy for everything else.

Pour and so what? How does that hurt anyone?
