Update: Post Race Change






I realize my defenses are still horrible, but I will get around to that after I finish a tier of Obvs (in 2 weeks). I decided to chose Vygoid Excavator for now, I will stick with this choice for a long period of time. Continuing to work on AP, currently have 2 slots open, waiting for suitable planets.

Kronym would be a good race to unlock.

Takes a month to make something tasty with Kronyn though. I'm not certain what good that would really do me

Coming from the person who sold you that plasma its worth it.
It would triple your res in 3 months and then are good tech when you don't need res.

Ok so I'm going by your updated stats here but I haven't read any of the advice posted by anyone else just so you know.
-Vygoid is not the best race you could have chosen, but excavator was a good choice. Konqul would have been a better race, but ah well.
-You want to replace your current Crimson weapons with Vortul Blast-Phasers, they are much better, but it will take a decent bit of perseverance.
-AI Supercomputer needs to go offline, the Parsers can stay since they give a decent boost to attack and allow you to see those T.O. Troop Carriers.
-Again get your second Vortul Plating, while i realise it's not so much something you can actively do, what I'm trying to say is make Vortuls a priority over any other NPC, leave 100-200 energy in the tank for when one pops up.
-Swap out te BM50 and the Microwarp Nacelle for your last two Heavy Antiprotons and an extra Dark Ring Thruster when you get it. Then gradually start phasing in defense, as and when decks become available.
-Your doing good researching shields, Obviation Barriers are a good investment.
-Don't worry about getting +12's now, they're very expensive especially with your low mining.
-You need to get all three of your productions up, they're quite low for your level, make arti the priority, then research and finally mining. But don't underestimate any of them.

It won't be long until I get the decks needed for the 2 antiprotons, so I will keep the defense for now. Would you mind giving me numbers for what a person at my rank should have in terms of production? I'm really not sure of the definition of "high" and "low"

Keeping the defense is your choice, while i don't necessarily agree I respect that. Your research is alright for your level, you want to up your mining to 2-3k, but if you can afford your upkeep comfortably then you don't need to make that a priority, but it is nice to have that buffer for when your upkeep does start increasing. To be honest you want your arti as high as possible but I'd say aim for at least 5k at your rank. It may take a while but it'll be worth it.
