You HAVE to take 2 out to get a POSSIBLE matched pair. However, to GUARANTEE a matched pair you need to take 3. Funnily enough, I considered using red and green socks in my riddle.
Next question: how do you put an elephant in a fridge, with the internal capacity in a cube area to hold a fully grown African Bull Elephant inside?
