Outside of Nerd/Geek circles, the distinction is rarely made. Both seem to be used in an equally perjorative manner. Having said that, these definitions seem to point to my being a nerd, thereby giving me a greater motivation to attempt to equate the two (or at least to aspire to get myself re-classified).
