Crap. We are all done with CTL discoveries (15 bps total). Last two discoveries sure are hell however.. Just a warning..

Yes, many Dysonians are maxed out with research trees and have nothing to waste on so they focus on theory lab to keep busy so the "impossible" difficulty isn't THAT difficult if many of us combined are doing R&D at the same time. It took us 2 weeks just to discover 14th and 15th BPs.. I personally invested over 10M RPs in last two blueprints and failed all. Several other Dysonians invested a lot too in millions of RPs and it still took us 2 solid weeks. It's "hell". I figure that it might take us ~1 week to discover 16th if luck stays the same.. Wait and see how it goes..

We just hit the 14th item this morning and the odds are now "Nearly Impossible." I figured the research that would be wasted for that one item isn't worth it so we will just wait until more come out or Dan corrects the odds to something more equitable.

So do the odds get easier when there are more undiscovered then get really hard/impossible almost on the last one not yet found ?

It didn't even stop us for the breakthough of 14th and 15th. It's not even hard. It took us just 2 weeks to complete 14th and 15th on impossible difficulty.. I don't think that Dan would correct that odd cuz it seems is reasonable and keeps us busy wasting our RPs rather than converting it for credits and complain that we don't have anything to waste RP on. I'm so glad about theory lab that we finally have good use of RP to waste on that could last us for long time to play with.. I like "as is" for difficulty and it actually adds to leaderboard so nothing is really wasted. RP to credit is actually wasteful because it is not counted toward leaderboard..

I think the difficulty description should be fixed. Very difficult, extremely difficult, ultra difficult, insane difficult... they all sound the same. What I think would be a better listing of difficulty labels: Very Easy (#1 - 2) Easy (#3 - 4) Medium (#5 - 7) Hard (#8 - 11) Very Hard (#12 - 15) Insane (#16 - 18) Machoistic (#19+) Or something similiar to these.

i think we really need to have dan explain the mechanics of the collective lab discovery. otherwise everything is based on observation and speculation.

Who cares if the RP gets you on the leader board? More vanity of the foolishly egotistical. If a research tree popped up and it cost 30,000,000 research points to complete the "Spy Probe - Governance" would you do it? An arguably useless artifact taking 5-10 players spending MILLIONS of research points each to get is a waste.
