ok, does it bother anyone else that there is an odd number of engineers or officers if you have one die or revolt in a mission? and if so, how can I get rid of one more so I can better scale it, like for energy, I like even numbers, easier to calculate reactors and relays

If its that big a deal, find a conveniently located airlock and flush one...
