I started the chain with 260 Rank points. Just fyi

I do not know what my max energy would be with my generators on and relays off, but with relays on and generators off I have 1807 energy. Add 360 for relays, then 315*4 for reactors, and there's my max energy. It is 3427. I will be going Inergon Explorer for the duration of the mission, so I would have 3770 energy as an Inergon. I've still got a long way to go.

If you start with that much energy *I think* you won't need to put any points into engineers as you rank up.

Something I had a problem with while auto ranking this chain.
There were a couple times where I needed only 2xp per energy but I didn't have enough energy to do the talth mission.

You will most likely need a small amount of extra max energy if you want to finish at the lowest rank possible.

Then after prepare to slow rank for a year lol

Nonsense. I auto ranked the talth chain and kept on auto ranking on NPCs to where I am now.

My AP/h is sitting at around 9k/hour. I am hoping to get that up a little bit more (10k) soon. That and I have 3 Mark IV Intra-Dimensional Colliders offlined. Also, I think I have been playing for about 7 months this time through. A little bit more than the last 3 months have been spent in the low 200s in terms of rank. Here's my first update after I hit 200. There's your answer!
Short answer, quite a bit of very slow ranking.

That's where I ended up. I did nothing but Taltherian missions from about halfway through rank 230 to rank 321, my final point.
I needed 6076 total energy.

What formula did you use to figure out you total energy requirement. I'm rank 451 and might do this after this mission chain with the uldri. I'd probably be using neural and rsl too so I would have to further that out too

It took me 33 minutes, including the engineers I had to add.
Look on the first page and the wiki, what I did is there, I believe.

I literally just did the exact same thing from rank 441. Now I am rank 508, I had about 5935 energy starting it, I was inergon at that point too. I had an RSL and Neural running the whole time and added every rank point I got into engineers. I ended with about 6700 energy and used aboit 6 energy refills.

Coolio. Anyways, if anyone was thinking about autoing Talth, here's your answer to a couple of questions you may have about it.
It takes 6075 energy to fully autorank it from 230 without XP buffs.
You'll end up at rank 321 if you don't use XP buffs and do purely Talth. I'm not even sure if I killed the NPCs that spawned from the mission until after I took these screenshots.
