I did some poking around before i made an tab about it , but i couldnt find one.
My apologies if someone has already made a tab about it.

So in creating a plasma planet do you do a mission?
If not whats the process that is required to beable to make one?

and cool effects that take place?

There are no planetary effects generated by using one, other than a gas planet becoming a plasma and allowing population structures to be built on it, but the planet gets +1 to size, +2 to research, and +300 defense. You need a Phasic Chain Ionizer, which is discoverable in a CT Lab (requires Hybrid Theory Dynamics), and costs 50 Ion Storm Charges, 50 Quantum Flares, and 50 Processing Core Chassis. 100 energy is required to use it on a Gas planet.

In addition to Rigor's info, using a Phasic Chain Ionizer allows you to go beyond 15x Mega Rich and Very Massive size. For example, you can Optimize or Kronyn a VM Gas planet to 15x then use an Ionizer creating a 17x Colossal.
