On my last scanning spree I had scan of 4950 and finished it when my chance become poor (haven't done a single scan with poor chance). I'm planning my next scanning spree with scan of 5675. How many planets can I find before my chance become poor? (lets say that my database contains the same amount of planets than it had when I finished my last scanning spree).
Also how many would I find with scan of 5300?

at 5719 scan, that'd be roughly 378 planets

you know how many planets you had at the end of your scan while at 4950.... you can do a rough estimate based on those two points and a little math for the data points you're asking

thx. I didn't see that thread. Those calculations are quite confusing to be honest but will do my best to figure it out. I have 315 planets in my database atm so should be able to find few.

if 4950 scan gave "poor" when you hit 315 planets... that's 15.7 scan per planet (much higher than it should be)
and 5719 scan gives "poor" when you hit 378 planets... that's 15.1 scan per planet

then 5300 scan should turn poor somewhere between 337 and 351 planets
and 5675 scan should turn poor somewhere between 361 and 375 planets

though... i suspect you either didn't get all the way to the borderline of poor (stopping just after the word poor begins).... or... you've purged some planets since then and don't remember how many planets you had when you hit poor at 4950.... at 4074 scan, i hit the poor borderline at 282, which is 14.4 planets per scan... using this extra information, i would estimate the poor borderline to be closer to 354 for 5300 scan, and still 375 for 5675 scan... give or take one or two planets

you can theoritically scan somewhere between 450 and 500 i would think...
but yeah, not worth the effort to go beyond 350, chance drops too low after that, start purging
