How long does and Android Helmsman last? The reason I ask is all of my other artifacts are single use or limited duration but that one doesn't have a duration listed. Is it permanent or temporary?

Thanks,
Sean

To my knowledge, forever. And it acts in every way a regular helmsman would.

Yes - Android Helmsmen, Android Scientists and Ship Bots all give immediate boosts to defense, research and decks. Very lucky finds, If you get them use them right away!

it's forever

they join the ranks of the crew on your ship, they come to afterwork poker parties in crew quarters, they argue with your chief engineer officer, and they use up holodeck time trying to understand humor

They use up ship memory with their music and retro flash games.

They take the ship out for unauthorized road trips and joy rides.

you dont notice them but they are there.. Helping your control your ship.. I can just imagine a ship with about 1000 helmsman steering the ship in 1000 direction in a single maneuver... that might not be smart hehehe

You don't find that many ant colonies out there that are suffering from acute people envy and have access to your critical ship systems (weapons, engines, cloak...ect), however.

Easy answer, it lasts til GL dies or your account resets. :D

Or you lose them in a mission.

By "lose them in a mission" Odragon means the missions that have a risk of crew death. Though I have not experienced it myself, I believe crew death only removes 1 and androids provide 3 and 4 (helmsmen and scientists respectively).

This is correct, they only remove one. I've had it happen. It sucks! :( :(

Missions I can think of that do this:
XTS-9 Refinement
Hijack Rescue
