How is it I am on alert for a missile? I got disabled, and sent a missile. I tripped a Kronus, but, did not disable.
No disable, no hack, and no raid, but now I'm on alert.

the new rules with the halcyon trap change and the calming amp change also changed the missle to an alertable offense

Artifact Changes:
Several changes have been made to the Calming Amplifier and Halcyon Trap to bring them more in line with their original intended purpose and design. We've tried to incorporate many of the ideas made by players in the last several months on how to change these without removing them completely.
Calming Amplifier can now only be used if you have not performed any offensive actions in the last 24 hours. It can no longer be removed by other artifacts, and now lasts 4 hours (down from 12). Also, performing any offensive actions (such as hacking) will remove the Calming Amplifier effect from your ship.
The Halcyon Trap has changed. It now applies its effect to the defending ship, rather than the attacker. It can also only be used if you have not performed any offensive actions in the last 24 hours. Its effect now lasts 2 hours (up from 1). Both the Halcyon Trap and the triggered Halcyon Aura effect will be removed if you perform any offensive actions.
Similar to all other types of offensive actions, you can no longer use enemy artifacts while disabled.
In addition to preventing standard attacks, ‘truce’ effects now prevent artifacts from being used against the ship, as well as the ship from using offensive artifacts against other enemy players.
Any remaining ‘Omicron Net’ artifacts can no longer be used. Please scrap any that you have remaining in your cargo.

Using a missile has always been alertable... using an artifact against someone allows you to be alerted.

I've never, in the year + I've been here, been alerted for a simple missile ...

There are people that consider cm as a higher offense than a single disable. Specially if you hit them while they are on npc mode.
Or when you missile them while attacking a base.
I always disable players without using a single artifact and most players tollerate my attack since I only cost them a repair but still. Gave them the benifit of their buffs.
Even if you talk to rav he will tell you the same thing.

Yeah most peeps don't particularly care if you CM their Crimson Obselisk or their sheild amp off, it's not like we don't have a gagillion of them in the hold anyways. But God help if you CM my Crimson Amp or Sha'din Algorithm off. Do to the rarity of these artifacts, if you realy wanna piss someone off, that's a pretty darn good way of doing it.
Edit: And why, exactly, is this under issues and support? You actually think Dan is going to change this?

keep in mind how serious a missile can be....
it can drop RSL Memory Implants and Neural Interfaces, as well as almost every other buff you have on you....
it would be nice if the missile had a limit on how many buffs it could randomly remove, even nicer if XP buffs didn't drop
