So, a couple of days ago I reconfigured my ship. Since then my mining has jumped from 30m credits income, to 100m credits. I do not see how the two are linked, but that is all I have changed...

More than likely it is simply the colonies on your planets maturing to their maximum production level.

-- Annabell Your quite low rank, if I remember, I can only take a planet about once every 10 days. The last planet I took was mining. But an extra 11 minerals/hr does not equate to an extra 70m a day. EDIT: 11 more per day as it matures. 99 in total.

if you reduced your amount of weapons, scanners, or reactors you would see a massive drop in upkeep. after upgrading my reactors i added another 300 million to my upkeep. everything else is relatively cheap to maintain, so if you configured for a hacker build without alot of scan then you would definitly be making more credits.

Let me make this more clearer. My upkeep is higher than it was before. My mining is only 99 higher than it originally was. And I am making 70mil more than I was.
Actually, I might have worked it out. Because I switched from my highly defensive ship setup (lots of cloak, defense, hull. No weapons, no scan. Energy is normal.) To my normal set up (2/3 cannons, 2 defenses, 4 hulls, no cloak, all special modules installed) I freed up some cargo space, and, I might be getting this mixed up, but doesn't cargo space effect income? It's one of the myths of GL.

I find that the more cargo space I have, the more diverse the minerals I receive, with many more high value minerals per shipment.

I noticed as i ranked up what i claimed mineral wise, then sold off took a sharp rise in roughly 25 rank instalments despite only using 3 main mining planets without much modding at all. I assume, correct me if im wrong, its something in the game pushing you to climb rank to get better income.

You do get better minerals as you level up. When you say your income increased, do you mean per day or per shipment?

He means the amount per day after sale of shipments increased.

Ah yes, I missed that. It probably is that you increased your cargo capacity; basically, it appears that your cargo fills from the lowest minerals to the highest, so if you have low cargo it will start filling the lower minerals and then stop before it gives you the higher level minerals.

Higher cargo space does seem to me to give slightly improved mining shipment returns. Larger shipments do seem to give slightly more of your top mineral than multiples of smaller shipments. Though there is enough variance in shipments it is hard to tell.
However, what most likely happened is that you reached sufficient rank to achieve a significantly better chance of getting your top mineral. The distribution of minerals you receive is based on your rank and there do seem to be certain ranks that affect the distribution more than others. Unlocking aidonium is the most obvious but big jumps in income happen at other ranks as well. This seemed to me to peak at around rank 350 and the only way to significantly improve income after that is to add more mining per hour.

There's a *SHARP* improvement in mineral mix around Level 80 to Level 85. Somewhere in there, I went from getting 5-10 pawlacite in 200.0 cargo space to getting upwards of 100-150. *SERIOUSLY* improved my income.

There's two major bumps in production as you level - one at 85 and one at 160 - the first makes you start regularly producing kurenite, and the second makes regular Aidonium production. Both are big boosts.

Did all of your resources receive an increase or just mining?
