Physicist. 30% Shield bonus for the harder to acquire shields compared to the 20% bonus of the easily obtainable and more space-efficient hull.

With more shields it'll take more time to reach your precious hull, duh. Very useful for overnight attacks as long as you have obnoxious defense to couple with thick shields. I always wake up in the morning to find all or most of my traps eaten up but my ship to be in exactly the same shape as I left it the night before.

Shields also work as a psychological weapon. Your would-be-attackers would be intimidated by the constant blue numbers that don't seem to end as they fire shot after shot.

Weakness however are Krionite Torpedoes and Chaostatic Inhibitors. The former completely removes all your shields no matter how much you can have (I can reach 5k shields with an amplifier)(Amplifier can also be easily removed with a containment missile). The latter prevent you from recharging your shields.

So although I love the physicist profession I will never neglect my hull. And yea, Lazuli Fixers are crazy.

builder is by far the best profession in the game imo. without my builder class my upkeep would be nearing 1 billion. instead its barely 500 million. this is a must with all high level deck heavy ships.

Just wait till you get closer to the end of research tree's, i got builder and an upkeep of 3.3 billion, doubtfull i would manage the double without builder

The other thats high ranked like mojo, kaos, noc has an upkeep of 13+ billion.. i dont wanna go there, i would go bankrupt in a day with that upkeep ~

False. I have upkeep of just 8B credit.. I keep only theta weapons while sporting almost 20k attack buffed for PVP.. That really helps to cut down upkeep.. I'm not a builder by the way..

Builder is good for high levels, so no its not technically the best.
Fixer is good for the Hull bonus in the beginning
Other than that most others are tied except for Biologist I picked it in the beginning i was Inergon Biologist turned into Sillixx Fixer and it works good but soon Im going to be Sillixx Builder then depending on the abilities one of the Unlockable races
