can I upgrade to a new ship?

I would like to know if i can upgrade my ship from light friget to something else.
Is there a level i have to be in order to do this?

No there is no level. It how many decks that is on your ship

So once i get past 99 decks my ship will change from Light Frigate to Frigate and so on and the more decks I have the better my ship becomes.

yes, it will grow larger. better, well... thats debateable. if youre going for an all deck strategy then its already too late to have an unstoppable scout with the new update, but for now, you just need to know when to quit with the decks, and start with engineers and tac officers. In my opinion, rank 225-250 is when you should start adding the engineers/tac officers. the key is large artifact production. that will allow you to use rank points as you see fit, and still gain decks at a steady rate.

Personally, at rank 247 i use my leveling points for decks, and then 2/3 ranks from rescued prisoners for engineers, 1/3 for tac officers. Soon however, this will change to all engineers and tac officers, as i am way behind on leveling.

Well Im only a lowly lvl 16 so i got a long way to go.
