Is it that the countdown only starts going down on npc's once i view it, it always is at the highest when i look at it |

The expiration countdown begins as soon as the enemy appears in your list. |

maybe its just coincidence then i always view it after it respawns |

It only respawns when you look at the battle tab. So if 10 hours have passed, a new NPC will show up the first time you look at it, not after the 8 hours timer hits zero. |
