So what exactly does the trap do? Other than just give out my research?

he hacked you at the same time as settin off the trap.. the trap means he has 0 cloak for 2 hours... there are ways to get around this but they are rather difficult.

there not difficult just pop a fuze now if its the only negative trap, affect its gone and voila yer back in business as far as the aggressor goes ,
it used to be a real #$&*@ to hit a qft but if ya have a stack of the fuzes not so much

the hack triggers the trap, so the trap goes off afterwards. but unless they have null fuses it will limit their ability to hack again.

or you can use a dark pyramid, you get the 50 cloak bonus, added back on to your cloak, so its no longer 0, it might help get you off the BT or give some defense against hacking, its not much, but it might help

Null Fuses are better, as it brings your cloak back to what it was beforehand, but the above is a short term buff until the QFW wears off if you don't have any fuses to purge the effect
