So i'm just curious, from a few posts i've seen regarding people conquering planets it seems that the general consensus is that you shouldn't? Just clarifying because it seems the general scenario is X player steals Y players planet, and IF Y player is higher level OR has a larger legion they expect the player to just hand it back or threaten to xyz..... the expectation being oooo we're ooooober bad and we shall raineth on your paradeth.


Now am i not correct in assuming this is a galactic conquest kinda game, ya know involving pvp and such which in this case also involves conquering planets. So it should just come down to are you willing to take the heat involved with the action of taking someones planet. But i am really curious what the consensus is

Also curious what are the odds of someone being able to gain the location of a planet from another player when hacking

Hahaha. Personally I attempt to take anything that is worth it. Even if they rain hell, you just have to wait it out a couple of days.

yep pretty much if you want it take it ... then just take a beating for a few days... if you dont fight back only 2 days of beating and very unlikely one of your planets will be hacked from you

half my planets are from invasions. haahahaahaa. so I absolutely have no problem with stealing a planet. and sometimes if you steal the planet the person won't do anything even though it's a nice planet and they could rough you up. haahaha. I've done that a couple of times.

Kinda what i was figuring, just wanted to see what other people thought

I keep getting crappy small/low resource plants scanned UNLESS its occupied then of course its very large/bigger and is rich or better on resources i need more of. Current one i'm eyeing is held by a rank 75 player, although he has nearly nothing on the planet and ZERO defense....he's also not in a legion so i'm wondering if its bait but i find that hard to believe. Not sure what the odds are that he can hack me and find all/some of my planet locations and snag them in retribution, but i'm thinking it might be worth the risk despite me being 43 ranks lower then him.......choices choices.

Now that i know better i try to stick to at MINIMUM average size plants and i accept nothing less then rich on at least one resource....not sure if thats too pick but so far i only have one planet less then average size and all rich or better with the one exceptiong being small/rich from one of my initial picks. Not alot of good options out there for me right now so this one might be worth the pain it will probably bring.

massive planet rich in mining/research so its flexible planet......bring the rain!!!!

does it display a timer on how frequently you can attempt to invade? If so where might i find it

You can attempt once every 24 hours (unless you use a paradox artifact) and it will show you the timer where the invade button should be if your timer is still running down.

You should definitely go for that planet if there is no legion.
Watch his rank. If it does not change in a day or two he's inactive.

That's true. A day or two is pretty aggressive but no legion makes me think he stopped playing before the switch to the new legion system.

Either way, no legion and no defense? Even if he's playing he's not really playing.

yeah been keeping an eye on him/it......decided to wait until i get access to another planet as opposed to abandoning a colony.....so maybe later today i'll go snag it.....good timing too as my research is lagging behind my mining. 661 mining 352 research 209 artifacts.......wish i could find some good artifact planets as well. only really coming across mining planets so far
having to up shield research so i can start putting up more defense, not sure how much to aim for. Only rank 35 so not like i can put up much of a fight unless they are near my level.

If you care about a planet, then you should defend it.
there's no good reason not to research colony items
not hard to put at least 1000 pop plus 750/600 defense ls on a planet.
its cheaper than replacing the whole mess.
it gets pretty expensive just to invade let alone upgrade buildings

Another school of play might be to just concentrate on production.
Just use less desirable planets and then is there as much of a need to protect anything?

think i'll work up to the 650 defense building and put a couple of those down on each planet, at least make them work for it a little....but if somoene really wants a planet they will be able to take it.

I prefer to invade planets of inactive folks, so If I get a juicy one in a scan, I'll watch it for a little while to see if the owner levels up. Past that, if it's undefended, I'll invade unless the guy is in a gigantic legion - I figure if I get gang-banged, one of them might hack a planet location from me.

It all depends on the quality of the planet, though.

As mentioned, a lot of the uninhabited worlds are just crummy. So I go for the inhabited worlds I think I can keep and hold. At my level, that is people who aren't in a legion, and people who haven't logged in for awhile. For the latter, I just make note of the levels of people who own worlds I want, and I check back in a week. If they haven't gone up a level, the world seems to be fair game.

why do you say that you only take a beating for a couple of days? what about later? i know your ship is going off their radar, but what about the planet? the previous owner can attack it at any time he chooses, isnt it so? even after a couple of weeks if he wants...

Dean higher lv you get a mission to that will give you flux that will take the planet of everyone radar. so to answer your Q after 2 days they loose the link to your ship and if u flux the planet it will be gone pretty much for good.
