How do rare NPC drops work? Specifically with multiple damagers. For example, I found a Vortul. I shared it, and then worked half the day weakening it. I got to something like 19% stable, and then one of my good legionaries came on, and with my help finished it. I did something like 91% of the damage, but he got the kill shot. Then he gets the Vortul Blast Phaser when he only did 10% or so. Another good example is when the same legionnaire found a Sketh. He did a majority of damage, I did a close second, and my friend give something like 5%. Yet I only the Pathogen, while the person above me, and the person below me get the scanner. I personally think that the better rewards should be given to the people who do higher % damage to enemies. |

Well Vekno, that's really unfair. It's fair that somebody who did more % damage get the better rewards. |

Unfortunately the RNG Goddess is not fair. Until recently I have been by far the strongest member of my legion and consistently did a vast majority of the damage to our elite/boss npc's. It always seemed as though I would get the "crappy" drop if multiple possibilities existed. Recently however, due to fast leveling and recruiting, there's a few catching up to me strength-wise and we have been "locking and walking". We get a lock on the NPC then back off to let others pummel it. Seems quite a bit more random now. On a side note, when I was the sole "big gun" doing 90%+ of the damage on elites that I alerted and getting the lowest XP reward I was really confused. Until one of the guys pointed out that he was human getting the 10% bonus... D'oh! It also helps to sacrifice the better quality goats. Don't shop at the discount cult stores. |
