ok, so if you use this on an ice world and then melt the planet, will the effects triple once the planet is melted, or will it still stay at the 1 artifact production thing? because i know the subsurface scruuge buildings carry over, but i wanted to know if this building would change. |

It doesn't affect the artifact production at all either way. It only affects the population. And I have to agree with the other person, it wouldn't change if you converted an icy to an oceanic. |

On a positive note, Oceanic/Terra/Gaia/Dyson to Hyper-Terraformed should keep the population bonus. Other than oceanic, why you would want to do that... |

because oceanics are the only ones that can get to mega-collosal that i know of. and if you use the sub-networks on icy they carry over. BUT if the bonus modifies on the QHM when the planet is melted then this would be a great strategy. and it does affect artifact production. +1 artifact. +100 population. |

Yes, there is an artifact bonus but it's only +1 no matter what planet you put it on. The population bonus changes with planet type. |

I haven't gotten one yet, much less used one, but the way the description reads, I would say the +1 artifact is like a chassis unit. It adds 1 to your base production not raise the level from say abundant to very abundant. |

It is indeed +1 to the total number of resource production points on the planet, not the overall planet resource level. |

I would assume that just like the Permafrost Sub-Network, the bonus is determined by the type of planet it is placed on, and keeps that bonus no matter what type the planet changes into. |

I melted an icy and the sub-network stayed the double values, then built a QHM, and got the 1 artifact, 300 population. Nice artifact planet. |

You all completely misunderstood what ODragon said. The type of planet it's constructed on doesn't affect the artifact bonus, it's always +1 artifact. He wasn't suggesting it increased the abundance, and he wasn't saying it did nothing with artifacts, he was saying that the type of planet doesn't affect the artifact output of the structure, it is always +1 artifact, which is the specific bonus the OP asked about, instead of the population bonus, which is affected by the planet type. |
