Keep collecting them. As you research more things the cost to buy them will increase dramatically. Also the required upkeep also increases. My daily upkeep is more than half of that amount.

Some high level weapons and other modules cost over ONE HUNDRED MILLION. And the high level reactors? OVER NINE HUNDRED MILLION. Save your credits.
