here is my question....
if you sum up all the requirement size to maximum equip all your weapon/armor/defense/shield/sensor..etc.. to your ship. The total deck required would be around 1900 deck. But I noticed that some player have a Galaxy Destroyer ship size. It has 3200-3500 deck. So technically they have extra 1300-1600 deck unused.

Why would they added so much deck (3200) and only ~1900 deck needed for maximum equipment??
What would be the correct number of deck require for fully loaded ship?

I am little bit unclear and maybe I am wrong somewhere....

Where do you get 1900 from? If you have everything researched, you'll need much more than 1900 decks to fit it all, not to mention NPC drops. I'm nowhere close to having everything equipped and have 2200+ decks.

Equipping the maximum number of the best research things in the wiki so far would take 2524 decks; I didn't try looking at all the NPC drops.

What you are probably missing is all of the mission modules, seasonal modules, and dropped modules. I expect to be able to equip everything at around 3500 decks. 3059 atm.

1900 still isn't enough for all the researched modules...

Yes, it's 2524, based on the highest tech in the wiki, which I believe is accurate, or at least fairly close.

Here is another perspective from the flip side. So, what if you say you don't want to specialize? What if you don't want a piece here and a piece there? What if you are the person who wants all of eveything? Well, here's what you are looking at in terms of maximum installed modules:

Weapons- 8
Defense- 8 (4 Thrusters, 4 Dampeners)
Shields- 5
Hulls- 5
Energy- 7 (3 Reactors, 4 Relays)
Scanners- 5
Cloaks- 4 (2 Jammers, 2 Cloakers)

In case you are wondering how much ship space that comes out to, here are the stats based on the FIRST RESEARCH MODULES ONLY*. If someone else would like to create a more complete listing, feel free.

Weapons- 8 Autocannons x 3 decks each= 24
Defense- 4 Autopilot Console* x 3 decks each= 12
Shields- 5 Light Magnetic Deflector x 10 decks each= 50
Hulls- 5 Titanium Plating x 5 decks each= 25
Energy- 3 Fusion Reactors x 10 decks each*= 30
4 Power Conduits x 5 decks each*= 20
Scanners- 5 Proximity Sensors x 5 decks each= 25
Cloaks- 2 Proximity Jammers x 4 decks each*= 8

Thus, here is your ideal maxed out first rank ship... minus racial/ professional bonuses:

Ship Class- Heavy Frigate
Deck Space- 194
Attack- 24
Defense- 12
Shields- 130
Hulls- 150
Energy- 90
Scan- 20
Cloak- 6

Good Luck with that... :)

Usually from low level, you don't want to maxed out, only focus to what is needed. But for high levels played, that is when you want to maxed out :)

Well I can say that I have over 3600 deck space used and I still have to upgrade to the newest scanners and install all five. (Right now I have four of the Hyperflux Sensor - Mark III's.) I also need to add six more of the heavy qsi's. As well as up grade some NPC models.

Because just destroying your star wasn't enough.

Yeah. I have 3689 deck and still long way off to go. Most Dysonians have at least star destroyer class because they are mostly loaded with NPC loot thanks to the nature of heavy NPC farming in the legion..

That depends on if you are fast ranking or slow playing actually. There are several lower ranked ships who are seeking to add everything at each researched ability first before moving on... just another fun way to play the game.

Besides, the post was intended to show how, even from rank 1, you will be chasing deck space all game! Which, in my mind, is a great reflection of the balance Dan has built into this game... and why it is my favorite on facebook!

If you ever have enough decks, you either have way to much money, or way to little research, decks are the name of the game
:)
