So many (I'm sure) players need credits buy new stuff or just to upgrade their equipment..so you ask? how do you know to get credits in bundles?
and I say currently I have lots due to myself being lucky and get a terra planet(and lost it about a week ago)and I got huge mining and artefact out of it

So how to get credits?
well first you should start some mining and research on planets but only If there are above sparse...
use your research to upgrade you stuff like energy and then some building upgrades...
Also start placing artefacts but not too many just a good amount to get you a artefact every 2-3 hours or less

All low level artefacts can be sold for a fair amount of CR so unless you need a flux probe sell it(but keep traps and things good for helping yourself along the line but if you find you never use them you can sell them)
By now you should have some minerals time to save them! keep them until you cargo is full and Then sell all or if needed just click sell to sell that one type(if you need to keep a certain type)now if you have mission that give you a bonus or a reward after but have a large completion time start it but don't do them because you are going to get heaps do them because in the time to complete it you can be selling stuff to get your daily upkeep payed
But the bonus you get is basically a bonus you get to keep it so then you have more and keep more due to if you used to pay 5000 a day for the upkeep and you found it hard to get that much and the bonus gave you 10,000 you then have the next upkeep already and get to keep what(or more of)what you get in the next selling of minerals or mission credits.

from then on you should have left over CR making it easier to get more
