A habitation module increases your planet's population amount.

-

-
A planet's population amount is used for defending a planet against attack. It works like a planets' "hit points". A single attack will kill a maximum of 20 population, so the more population a planet has, the more attacks it will be able to survive against, meaning an invader has to spend more energy before they can even attempt an invasion. This also increases the time that the defending player has to react to the invasion.

-

-
Population will slowly recover over time if attacked.
