 Massive Boss Fight

Once a year, for some sort of holiday or something, there should be one Galaxy Wide boss fight. What I mean is a MASSIVE boss that is to be worked upon by ALL players, and can be seen by ALL players.

It could drop rank-based weaponry (as in the method the radiant surge cannon uses) or a module that has medium/great stats in general - maybe something akin to the mission rewards in that it takes no space, but only has mediocre stats.

It would have a one to two week timer, depending on how tough it is, and would have to be made tough enough to give all of the players a good fight, without being impossible to defeat. To do this, Dan could use his knowledge of the average player level, attack, defense, etc. to formulate its stats.

NOTE: The drops are just suggestions. It could be one, none, or a random one picked from them.

Examples:
(Christmas)
Santa's Sweatshop Planet (Or maybe just Santa's Sleigh, could have a drop of Reindeer Lasers or some such, if they are made mechanical and shoot lasers.)
Description: The secret, fortified planet that Santa keeps his enslaved elves in. Guarded by a laser defense system and making use of explosive cheer blasters, its impressive weaponry is used as much to keep the elves in as keep others away.
Drops: Laser Defense System (defense), Cheer Blasters (weapon).
Stats: Would be better determined by Dan, but HUGE.

(Halloween)
Jack's Interdimensional Transport
Description: How else would Jack get back to this dimension each year to spread tricks on All Hallows Eve? Equipped with state of the art dimensional thrusters, trans-dimensional engines, and warp shields, its defense is a force to be reckoned with. Watch out for the special traps that may randomly take effect!
Drops: Dimensional Thrusters (defense), Trans-Dimensional Engines (energy), Warp Shields (shields), perhaps some specialty, one-use traps.
Stats: Yet again, would be determined by Dan.

They could also just happen on some random day of the week, perhaps a holiday which only takes place in GL. It wouldn't necessarily make sense (although I am sure Dan could make it, in some way, fit in), but I personally feel a massive boss to be worked together by ALL of the players in GL could be a fun, invigorating, and memorable experience.

Edit:
If possible, maybe it could also scale its stats (attack/defense) to the player fighting it (but not health/shields), so as to make it a more even fight overall (if this is even possible in GL). Anyone who participated would get a reward due to the nature of the event.

nice +1 however there would have to be a max damage limit per player or it would get killed by the high rankers

This idea would also be a workable solution, putting in a damage cap to it so that the higher ranks are unable to destroy it single-handedly, although in addition the special NPC's attack would likely be enough to hit the damage cap of even medium ranks every time, if not moderately high ranks.

Yeah, that's what I thought of shortly after posting. Put a short edit on the bottom, but I'll also include your quote as a possibility :).

I like this Idea but how about a massive npc boss that would require the use of our battle pacts, instead of the entire galaxy legions. This way we get more use out of battle pacts and forms a better relationship in the end.

All I have to say is bases.

-1 It is done already.

Maybe an enemy fleet instead of a base and just have different sized ships so everyone has something they can kill.
Or the base has multiple parts to it.

It could also a response to your legion killing a bunch of npcs.
For every dark smuggler npc killed, a rage bar would fill a little more until the dark smuggler guild decides to attack your legion.
