 Bump/Purge Option

I'd really like to see an option to bump/purge players off of your BT without attacking them. All players for 20 energy and/or one at a time for 2 energy.

Problem: it's annoying to buff your ship for battle, only to see five players on the BT with 0 disables left, two who are at 3, 5, 5 actions or lower remaining (possible halcs), and another 3 players you are either friendly with or simply really wish to avoid irritating (e.g. somebody who you know will smash you repeatedly for 48 hours after you set off one of their traps just because they can).

I will admit that I used to roll my eyes when I'd hear other players complain about this problem ("Well then why don't you do something other than PvP for awhile?"), but after experiencing it a few times myself over the last week despite only engaging in a moderate amount of PvPing, I can see it is an issue -- and probably a much larger one for players who do a lot more fighting than I do.

Currently, when your BT is clogged up, your only ways of resolving this problem are:
  • reconfigure your scan in the hopes that a better crop of opponents appear (annoying and possibly expensive)
  • wait it out, rebuff your ship later (boring)
  • spend 5 energy attacking and hope nothing bad happens (expensive for lower-level players, possible blowback)

But with a "bump/purge" option, the problem could be solved easily:
  • It would save players from occurrences where their tab is full of players with zero disables/friends/nemeses remaining.
  • Players wouldn't have to worry about setting off any traps/ending up on some vindictive freak's log.

And with the energy cost, it would be a reasonable tradeoff. Yes, it makes hunting a little easier and saves players the hassle of reconfiguring their ship and such, but it's also not completely pain-free. Advantage: attackers. But it's not a completely free ride...

It'd also be good for non-combatants because:
  • Well, actually it wouldn't be that good, but they wouldn't have to reset traps or pay credits to repair their hull just because somebody wanted them off their BT. OK, maybe that's a stretch. Fine, it wouldn't be good at all. But who cares? They already get their fair-share of handholding...

Implementation
If it's an option to bump or purge singularly, it could be an option under the Actions tab when you have the ship targeted:
Scan Lock: Bump (2 Energy)

If it's an option to purge the entire enemy player tab, it could be handled as a separate button (e.g. Purge Scanned Enemy Player List (20 Energy))

NOTE: I realize this is not the most original or even a very new idea. In fact, somebody posted something similar to this just a few weeks ago. But I apparently fail with the search feature, and gave up searching for it after several minutes.

Could have been me? But I know there are plenty of threads out there on similar topics, especially removing zeroed players.

I give +0.5, agree with removing zeroed players, but can't give a plus one as I don't agree with removing 3,5,5'ers

Probably was you. Like I said, I wanted to bump an older thread about it...

Your idea about limiting it to zeroed players sounds perfectly reasonable, by the way, and less prone to abuse than mine.

The idea has been pinged around time and time again, if we keep doing it Dan *should* eventually implement it.
